What is in a name?
If you have attended a SLS meeting or you’ve been receiving SLS emails in the last year, you may have heard news about the Integration Team, Implementation Team, or Integrated Implementation Team. Wanting to simplify things without detracting from the reason why the teams were formed, we will simply begin calling it the IT from now on.
What does IT stand for?
The “I” in IT stands for the overlap between integrating the interests of farm, fish, flood, and tribal needs and implementing projects that take those needs into consideration. The “T” in IT stands for team, because that’s what it takes to get the work done.
Regardless of the name, it still signifies a group of technical staff from participating organizations, governments, tribes, and agencies that have a high level of understanding of the needs of salmon recovery, flood mitigation, and/or agriculture resilience. They are coming together despite of and because of their different backgrounds to create on-the-ground actions that aim to produce win-win results.
