Snohomish County gets a new Food and Farm Center!

The 2021 Legislative session has come to an end with a successful outcome for an idea that has been in the works for over 15 years - Snohomish County’s Food and Farm Center has been funded at $2.55 million! The funding will complete Phase 1 of the project, which consists of building a facility that will be used to process, aggregate, and distribute fruits and vegetables. The facility will be located in McCollum Park in south Everett.

Phase 2 will focus on building a commercial kitchen and offices for the facility. Phase 3 will consist of building a new indoor year-round farmer’s market. This will be the first indoor year-round farmer’s market in Snohomish County, offering extended local shopping to a large urban population.

Olympia Farmer’s Market is one of the few indoor year-round farmer’s markets in western Washington.

The Food and Farm Center has been strongly supported by both County Executive Dave Somers and the Snohomish County Council as well as the Snohomish County farming community. Congratulations on the successful effort!
